Not sure if a money market account is right for you?

  • What is a money market account?

Think of money market accounts as a hybrid between checking and savings. You can access your money anytime, and write checks from the account, while you're earning dividends at interest rates on par with our strongest savings accounts.

  • Benefits of money market accounts

One of the biggest advantages is the interest rate. Money market rates are typically higher than a standard savings account, which means you earn higher dividends. So your balance grows over time, but you're still able to access the money when you need it.

Who money market accounts are best for

  • Anyone building an emergency fund
  • Savers planning a vacation or significant purchase
  • Members looking to grow balances for short- or medium-term goals

  • Clearview offers competitive, tiered money market rates to help you earn more on your savings. View our current deposit account rates and terms to find the option that works best for you.

  • You don't need a minimum balance to open a regular money market account with us. To keep your savings growing and avoid extra costs, simply maintain an average daily balance of at least $1,000. If your balance falls below that amount, a $7.50 monthly service fee applies. For our Relationship Money Market account, you must maintain an average daily balance of at least $5,000 in your account or keep a minimum of $20,000 in combined deposits in order to avoid a $10 monthly service fee. There is no minimum average daily balance required to earn the stated annual percentage yield (APY).

  • Money market accounts typically offer higher dividend rates than regular savings accounts and may include added flexibility like check-writing or overdraft protection. Savings accounts are easier to maintain and have fewer requirements, but they generally offer lower returns.

  • Money markets generally have lower interest rates than savings certificates, but are typically higher than a standard savings account and offer greater flexibility for withdrawals. In some cases, a relationship money market may offer a higher rate when paired with qualifying accounts or balances. Savings certificates typically offer higher interest rates than Money Market Accounts but require you to leave your funds untouched for a set period of time.
