The scholarships are named in honor of Ralph B. Canterbury, former Clearview President and CEO, for his service and loyalty during his 34-year tenure. Since its inception, the Ralph B. Canterbury scholarship has provided over $230,000 to students across Pennsylvania. Recipients are chosen based on their personal goals, activities and community involvement, outstanding academic performance, and a video. Applications for this scholarship are accepted annually, beginning in January.

18th Annual Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award

We’re proud to announce that Howard Harris has been awarded the 18th Annual Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award!

For more than a decade, Howard has been a devoted volunteer with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, often serving alongside his wife, Paula. His tireless dedication and humble leadership have left a lasting mark on the organization and the thousands of neighbors it supports.

Howard volunteers a minimum of three times a week, stepping into a wide variety of roles with reliability and heart. From helping at large-scale distributions to supporting day-to-day operations, he has been a constant source of strength for staff, fellow volunteers, and the community. With over 3,500 volunteer hours, making him second-highest in total hours served.

His generosity, consistency, and genuine care embody the very spirit of the Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award.

On September 9, Howard received the $5,000 award from Clearview, which will be directed to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. This gift will help further the mission of ensuring that all neighbors in our region have access to healthy, nutritious food.
