Merger Questions

The effective date of the merger will be November 1, 2022. The two credit unions will merge their financial records, our charter will end, and our credit union will become Clearview Federal Credit Union.

We’ll merge our computer systems and data on March 31, 2023. Because of that, you should continue to conduct business as usual at PAHCU branches or via the PAHCU app or Home Banking until the data conversion is completed on March 31, 2023.

Members can also conduct PAHCU transactions via Shared Branching in person at select Clearview financial centers during this time. Visit clearviewfcu.org/locations to find a financial center.

A special meeting of the members of PAHCU will be held to give our members the opportunity to vote on the merger between PA HealthCare Credit Union and Clearview Federal Credit Union. The virtual meeting will be held on October 11, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.

You must register to attend the virtual meeting. Instructions on how to attend the meeting will be provided once you've registered to attend.

PAHCU members can vote by mail. You will find the ballot in the BACK of the vote book. You can place your ballot in the enclosed envelope and mail it to the noted address to be included in the vote count. Your vote must reach the address by October 11, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. ET in order to be counted. Vote ballots will not be accepted at either of the PA HealthCare Credit Union offices.

Both branches will remain open through the merger.

Once the data conversion takes place on March 31, 2023, all PAHCU members will automatically become members of Clearview and be entitled to all benefits and solutions offered by Clearview.

They will become employees of Clearview.
The par value for PAHCU is $25 and the par value for Clearview is $10. The par value will become $10 for the members of the merged credit union.

Yes. PAHCU has Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance coverage with CUNA Mutual Group. PAHCU Members will be offered an opportunity to convert their coverage to the equivalent Clearview insurances through an opt-in option. By opting in to the Clearview coverages, PAHCU Members will have continuous coverage on their current loans. If the member doesn’t complete the opt-in process, the current loan insurances will expire as of April 1, 2023. PAHCU members will receive CUNA opt-in information in late January/early February, 2023. Members taking new loans after March 31, 2023, will be offered Clearview’s Debt Protection.

PAHCU’s GAP and Mechanical Breakdown insurances with CUNA Mutual Group will stay in effect as they are related to the vehicle and not the Member.

Yes, PAHCU credit cards will be converted and members will be reissued Clearview credit cards as of April 1, 2023.

Yes. After the data conversion on March 31, 2023, loan balances that you have with PAHCU will transfer directly to Clearview, with the current loan balance and at the original term and rate. Your loan activity will then be reported to the Credit Bureaus by Clearview. Clearview does require that a loan payment be made every month while a loan balance exists.

New solutions or products on existing PAHCU accounts can be opened at one of the PAHCU offices. There will be a blackout window before the March 31, 2023 data conversion where new products and solutions will not be available until after the data conversion. At that point, they will be opened as the Clearview account products and solutions. If you want something offered by Clearview in the between time, you will need to open a Clearview account.

No. Clearview won’t automatically merge any PAHCU accounts into existing Clearview accounts. After the merger data conversion on March 31, 2023, you’ll have two separate Clearview accounts. If you’d like to combine the accounts into one, please contact Clearview after the data conversion merger and they’ll be happy to combine them.
