Tips for a Special Valentine’s Day (On a Budget!)

Tips for a Special Valentine’s Day (On a Budget!)

Valentine’s Day is here! Those of you who have made a habit out of celebrating year in and year out with your loved ones know that there are all kinds of ways to celebrate. However, you probably also know that those different ways to celebrate can get expensive! According to the National Retail Federation, U.S. consumers are expected to spend a near-record $19.6 billion on Valentine’s Day this year.

Luckily, Clearview has some options that will help make sure Cupid doesn’t put an arrow right through your budget!
  • Start at the beginning: Revisit something from your past as a couple. Whether you’re driving by the place where you first met or going through photos from years past, revisiting those memories can provide a valuable, inexpensive bonding experience with your loved one.
  • Spend a night in: Many couples or groups of friends flock to restaurants on Valentine’s Day to take advantage of prix fixe menus and bottles of wine. Instead of struggling to grab a reservation at your local restaurants, spend some one-on-one time with your loved one and cook together! Plan a favorite meal that you both can be involved with and enjoy the quiet time alone.
  • Celebrate late: If cooking isn’t your thing, celebrate late instead! You can avoid the crowds of couples and price markups on Valentine’s Day and choose a different evening to celebrate instead. That way, you can plan your reservation without the holiday pressure and save money in the process! (We hear the clearance candy and chocolate are a bonus, too.)

At the end of the day, Valentine’s Day is about the people you hold dear. No matter how you choose to celebrate today, the time you spend with your loved one is what will be the most memorable.

If you want to celebrate Valentine’s Day with Clearview, stop by your local branch on Friday, February 16 for a treat and a chance to win a special contest!
