Go Direct® - It’s the LawClearview has partnered with Go Direct®– a campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve Banks to educate people who receive federal benefits on the new electronic payment requirements. If you still receive a paper check for your Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Veterans Affairs, Railroad Retirement Board, Office of Personnel Management or Department of Labor (Black Lung) benefits, you are out of compliance with the law. The Treasury Department requires federal benefit payments to be made electronically.
You can choose to get your payments by direct deposit to your Clearview account. Sign up by contacting the U.S. Treasury Electronic Payment Solution Center at 1-800-333-1795, or visit www.godirect.org.
When making the switch, be sure to have the following information on hand:
For deposit to your Clearview Checking account, use the account number at the bottom of your checks
For deposit to your Clearview Savings account, use your membership account number
Direct deposit eliminates the risk of lost or stolen checks and helps protect against fraud and identity theft. Furthermore, direct deposit provides people with immediate access to their money from virtually everywhere, which can be vitally important in the case of a natural disaster or a major life change. If you are already receiving your federal benefits electronically, you do not need to take any further action.
