Credit Union Employees Raise Money For Operation Troop Appreciation
Moon Township, PA— Employees of Clearview Federal Credit Union raised nearly $1,200 for Operation Troop Appreciation (OTA) through several recent events. The largest fundraiser was an employee craft and gift show held on November 8 and 9. Employees, their families and friends made a donation to OTA for the opportunity to sell their goods at the show. Items such as jewelry, baked goods and decorative items were sold at the event.
Clearview Employees also raised funds with raffles at the craft and gift Show. Over the last two months, employees have been collecting items to send to deployed troops. This donation includes hygienic and entertainment items requested by the troops such as shampoo, razors, playing cards and video games.
Operation Troop Appreciation was formed as a non-profit organization in 2004, and works with military units to provide items specifically requested by troops in the field. These items are intended to help ease the burden of deployment and are presented to the troops as symbols of appreciation, support and encouragement. In addition to sending these items, OTA also sends letters to each unit, expressing gratitude for their daily service and sacrifice. A committee of OTA volunteers continues to correspond with any soldier who wishes to keep in touch.
